CPD / Community meetings: The Foundation sponsored the recent and ongoing community meetings between CPD and the community to discuss local and nationwide police issues.

Sensitivity training for CPD personnel was funded by Foundation.

The Foundation and the local Jewish community sponsored two trips for CPD to the Holocaust Museum for intense training of officers and supervisors.

The 200th anniversary celebration for CPD was sponsored by the Foundation.

The Foundation provided funding for numerous CPD bike officers to ride to the Police Memorial in Washington DC.

CPD is in the process of putting together over $300,000 in requests to the Foundation for equipment and training going forward.

White Hats

White Hats provides benefits to the families of deceased or injured safety officers who are covered by the charter. All benefits are administered in accordance with the policies established by The Columbus Police Foundation's Board of Trustees.

Discretionary benefits are need-based. In providing benefits, White Hats strives to be consistent in its mission but flexible in its approach, trying always to determine what needs to be done, and then stepping in at the right time to do it.

To be eligible for benefits, the deceased or injured office must have been employed by the City of Columbus in an active status.
